I have several small “news” stories to report to you all. First, the re-write of the CMIR Study Guide is going along with due speed. Recently, the Education Committee hired a writer to pull together all of the sections that have been re-written by our subject-matter-experts. As one can imagine, different writing styles have to be blended to make the Guide meaningful, and that’s why we hired a professional writer to perform that task. The first draft is scheduled to be presented to the Board at the March meeting in Scottsdale, AZ. We’re all anxiously awaiting the first draft product.

Second, the number of nominations for elections to the Board is outstanding! I am extremely pleased with the response we have received to date. There are a good number of member nominations for the two Director openings for the March election. There are also several nominations for the Associate Director position that will come up for election in March as well. The interest shown in the nominations is exciting, as this tells me there are a number of you who care deeply about your Association and want to work at the highest capacity to make it even better. It’s still not too late to enter your nomination (self-nomination is acceptable) but you must do it quickly. If you are interested in nominating someone or yourself, please contact Jane Male, Executive Director, at
Third, the Philadelphia Lunch & Learn was a smashing success. We had more than 30 participants and some new members in attendance. We also had some companies join after attending, as we did following the Houston informational event. Our next Lunch & Learn will be in Los Angeles on January 27th. Look for more specifics in this edition of Asset 2.0, or you can learn more and register online for this free event on our website at
Lastly, I have some sad news to relay to you all; one of our Directors has lost his dear spouse. Michael Rhodes’ lovely wife Susan passed away on November 15th. Susan has been as much a fixture at the Association meetings as Michael. Michael and Susan spent 26 loving years together, and were not only spouses but were best friends as well. Susan will certainly be missed by her family, and will likewise be missed by her Association family. Please keep Michael and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Best regards,
Dave Rupert
