Greetings!
If your fall season is starting like mine, you’re busy most weekends with college football and preparing your landscape for the winter. Those of you lucky enough to have beautiful weather year-round, well at least you’ve got football to keep you busy. In this edition of ASSET 2.0, I think you’ll find some very useful articles about forecasting and planning, and some spot- n articles about what to look for in IR vendors and how to evaluate outsourcing vendors. Once again, it’s another issue full of useful information for you all. My hat is off to our contributing members and the Group 365 staff for their incredible creative talents! (If you have a point of view you want to share, contact Bill Kimball, editor, at bill@group365.com.)

For my small part, I want to keep you apprised of what your Board of Directors has been working on. After a successful Lunch & Learn in Houston, the board decided to provide two more Lunch & Learn sessions prior to our next Seminar and Trade Show in Scottsdale, AZ, next March. These are useful tools for the association to promote the IR profession and to recruit new members. Please take advantage of these sessions to grow your business and expand your professional network. Nov. 18—Northeast FREE Lunch & Learn. The first such session will take place in the greater Philadelphia/Northern New Jersey area on November 18. If you can make it to Philadelphia next month, stop by with a potential new member and let them hear about the association and its many benefits for IR professionals. Watch for an email from Jane Male, look on page 15 of this issue or go to www.InvRecovery.org/FreeLunch for more details.

Jan. 27— Los Angeles Lunch & Learn. Our second Lunch & Learn will take place in Los Angeles, CA, on January 27, 2011. We hope by having these sessions on each coast we will provide our message to large population areas and increase our potential to reach even more IR professionals.

CMIR Exams. Another benefit of the November Lunch & Learn will be an opportunity for those members who want to take their exam(s) for the Certified Manager of Investment Recovery (CMIR). If you have already taken at least one exam, contact Jane Male to arrange for your exam(s) on the morning of November 18th just across the street from the Enterprise Education Center, at the Residence Inn. Plus, you will also get a free lunch at the Lunch & Learn session following the exam period.

A parting thought: If you haven’t visited the association’s website lately (www.invrecovery.org), you owe it to yourself to do so. Along with ASSET 2.0, the association’s website is one of the many benefits provided to you as a member, and it is packed full of useful information that may help your organization. We now have a pretty impressive searchable archive of more than 100 informative articles that can be easily forwarded to colleagues. I hope to see you in Philly!

Best regards,
